Celebrating 12 New Homes & Community Center
On December 6, we celebrated the opening of 12 new tiny homes and the Community Center with the Board of Directors, the elected officials, community partners, and our residents. Dr. Alesia Scott-Ford, field office director of HUD, was on hand to cut the ribbon and celebrate the progress of the community.
The Dwellings has completed construction on 105 homes and we are thankful for all of the support we continue to receive. Interested in supporting us? Donate here and help us change lives.

As Tallahassee’s only sustainable, low-cost, low-barrier tiny home community, we are thrilled to announce the completion of 89 homes. Before the end of 2019, we will complete a total of 130 homes. We look to continue moving individuals into our community every 45-60 days.
The new Community Center, scheduled for completion in May, features an arts center with 9 screen TV wall, a complete woodshop, and even a high-tech, cashless laundry facility. The dining hall serves 2-3 meals/day, a general store, outdoor stone firepit, and nearby walking trails. Daily Community Center programs include financial planning, wellness, counseling and general community building through organized recreation. This innovative approach provides participants with the tools to grow and become self-sustaining, while being part of a healthy society of friends and neighbors.

The Next Group of Homes
As Tallahassee’s only tiny home community, we were excited to welcome 12 new residents to our community last month.
This move-in marked the completion of the next dozen houses and doubled the occupancy of The Dwellings. We look to continue moving individuals into our community every 45-60 days with our Community Center scheduled for completion by Winter 2018.

Now that we have officially revealed Phase 1 of The Dwellings, we are looking ahead to Phase 2.
Phase 2 will consist of 12 more homes and the build-out of our community center. Presently, all homes in Phase 2 are accounted for and considered occupied. Beyond that, we have a waiting list for the next phase of houses.
If you are interested in being on the waiting list to live at The Dwellings, please come by our office between 9 am and 11 am OR 2 pm and 4 pm. Note that this is the only time we are able to take applications and do assessments to see if you qualify for residency.
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and thank you all for helping our community become a success.
